BSG, also known as the Benelux Speedrunner Gathering, is an on-site marathon in the Netherlands. Naturally, the event is open for people from all nationalities. The doors will be open starting Saturday the 14th of August until Sunday the 22th of August. The stream is scheduled to run starting Sunday the 15th of August until Saturday the 21th of August.

Online / On-site

Due to the Covid-19 situation, determining whether we can do an on-site event for Annual 2021 is rather difficult at this point. With the possibility of Annual 2021 being either online or on-site, we understand that submitting might prove difficult. But we got you covered!

To keep the possibility open, we decided to add an extra setting in the submissions. With this option, you can tell whether your submissions would be for which type of event. On-site, Online, or both! Make sure you are aware of the requirements for each of these, and then fill it in accordingly.

The decision whether the event will be held on-site or online will be announced 31st of March.

Requirements

In order to maintain high-quality speedruns, there are a few requirements that we'd like to adhere to;

Online requirements

You must stream at a minimum of 2500kbps. The higher the better, but don't overdo what you cannot do. This is negotiable if you're unsure.
Runners must use a face camera for their run during the marathon.

Submissions open: December 24th until April 2nd (23:59 CEST)

Schedule reveal: June 20th

Chase games

We understand that there will be some hype games that take some time to develop a good speedrun, and just aren't ready for when our deadline approaches.

For these games specifically, we introduce chase games. On May 3rd, we will open a "chase games" submission form, for those games that were released on or after March 1st, 2021. These will slide along with our 2nd cuts. These will close May 13th.

Volunteering

The volunteering form will open April 4th and close July 4th.

Our marathon is proud supporter of MIND. Stichting MIND wants to prevent mental health issues by providing the right information and care to stay mentally healthy. We also support people that have dealt with mental issues themselves or within their family. We create awareness and understanding for people with mental problems and promote to be open in order to get the right support.
